A Poem By Elizabeth Graves

Why I Have Horses
By Elizabeth Graves ©

It's an Illness of sorts
One that takes over my sanity
Not something I seek for vanity

The gift of touching
 Such a glorious beast
Is one of a mind feeding feast

The aromatic scent
Takes over my senses
Whirling away all my defenses

The warmth of their coat
With moving muscles beneath
Melts the winter heath

They creep into my soul
And I into theirs
Healing each others emotional tear's

I'm so alive
With a horse in my life
Washing away each others strife
